What an amazing reaction to the wedding show Sunday in Wilmington! Team Baca Photography had the pleasure of talking to about 80 brides and were excited that you stopped by to say hello!
Now the hard part…trying to choose which photographer, what package, prints, negatives, albums… It can be very overwhelming. I am very excited that we did add two new brides into our family! BUT, on the flip side, I have had a few emails and one teary phone call with a bride that really wanted to use us, loved our work and enjoyed meeting us but didn’t think they could afford us. I will admit there is a trend in town where anyone who can afford a camera is now a wedding photographer. This is disheartening in a way because budget is such a big issue and many brides are getting burned by the “budget” photographer. Of course we all have to start somewhere; and I can look back at the very first weddings I shot and can only imagine what on earth was I thinking! That said, “you get what you pay for” is not a popular expression for no reason.
I believe in personally taking the time and energy to get to know you and your families so on the day of your wedding we are more like best friends rather than a stranger with a camera. As a professional photographer we work for ourselves…meaning we pay our own taxes, pay our own insurance personally and for our equipment, we take care of our own health coverage etc. So, when you see the price of some of the professionals in town that all has to be taken into account. ”Getting a deal” from someone just starting out is risky and may end up being something you regret for the rest of your life. Passion, professionalism and personality have to come in play when choosing your photographer. Being able to work in all kinds of lighting situations, different venues, dealing with “cranky” guests or simply bad weather requires a photographer with great experience.
We have gift certificates and a registry program you can take advantage of. You can register at Bed Bath and Beyond, Home Depot and Baca Photography…let your family and friends help pay for the only service that will stand the test of time. After the cake and food is eaten, the flowers are gone and the dress gets put in a box, the pictures will be the thing you will have to remember how amazing your day was.
We are able to work with you on a payment plan. For $216 a month I will personally take the time to get to know you, make sure you really like me, show up on your wedding day and take amazing images! It is as simple as that. One of the emails I got was from a beautiful young lady with whom we hit it off famously. When we quoted she complimented me and said she would love to use us but I was out of her price range. Looking at her quote she received from another photographer and according to my current rates I was only $73 more a month! That is two nights out on the town or one nice date night. Take it a step further… We are only 18 cents a day! On your 40th wedding anniversary you can look back on the amazing images we took and remember how it all started…and you will be so happy with your decision, “back in the day.”
